Time will Tell
I tell time,
by the broken Burberry watch on my wrist,
by the wrinkles in my forehead,
by the analog clock in the corner of my screen.
I tell time,
by the vacations I never should have taken,
by the blue boxes stacked on my calendar,
by the rounds I complete on my workouts.
I tell time,
by the pages filled in my morning journal,
by the candle wax waning,
by the ink in my pen running dry.
I tell time,
Stop,
Go faster,
Stand still for awhile.
I tell time,
Remember when?
And, please forget,
And, just give me a second.
I tell time,
You’re my worst enemy.
I tell time,
I don’t want to play this game anymore.
I tell time,
What if we just started over?
I tell time by my imagination,
Maybe no time has passed at all.
